One of the goals at PeerFly is to provide our publishers with all the tools required in order for them to be successful. Not only is this a company mission, but it is my personal mission as well. The main reason I write in this blog is to share my knowledge and experience with affiliate marketing so you have an easier time being successful than I did. About a year and a half ago I made a site called PeerFlyBanners.com. The site provided a script that allowed you to easily rotate the banners available on our offers at PeerFly. Although it works pretty well, has been used by over 1,000 PeerFly publishers, and has generated nearly 20,000,000 banner impressions, a better option has finally been created. I am happy to announce that we have officially launched our own in-house rotator finally at PeerFly. It is much better than my script and here are a few reasons why.

The New Banner Rotator Features

The new PeerFly banner rotator, named Ads By PeerFly, is much more complex than the simple banner rotator I previously provided my publishers. Not only is it more stable because it is being hosted on our amazing servers at PeerFly, but it will also be updated more frequently because we have our in-house programming team working on it. Over time I expect this new tool to be more than you can even picture at the moment and I have no doubt it will help my publishers make a lot more money. PeerFly banner rotator

On-Page Rotation

The banner rotator is setup to automatically rotate banners while your users are on the page. After a banner has been displayed for 15 seconds it automatically rotates to the next best banner based on our automated optimization. This should help increase your CTR and that should help you make more money!

Keyword Search

You can now filter banners by keyword term. So, if you want to rotate the iPhone offers from PeerFly simply enter the keyword iPhone and the rotator will specifically look for iPhone offers to display. You can also break this down by vertical or verticals (iPhone email submits).

Country Specific Offers

One of the features missing most from PeerFlyBanners.com was the ability to only display banners for offers that allow traffic from the visitor’s country. This was the first thing we added to the new banner rotator. You do not have to worry about your visitors being redirected because they are clicking on banners for offers that do not allow traffic from their country anymore! This will help increase your conversion rate and revenue.

Display or Hide Adult Banners

Another feature not previously supported by PeerFlyBanners was the ability to hide or display adult banners. You can now choose to display all banners, never display adult banners, or only display adult banners.

I have also created a WordPress Plugin you can download and install on your WordPress blog to easily add the banner rotator script without having to touch any code. Once you download and install the plugin on your blog you will see a new PeerFly Banners Rotator widget on your Widgets page. You can drag and drop that into any sidebar on your blog and create your rotator using a simple form (shown to the right). You can add this widget as many times as you want to as many sidebars as you want. I recommend a maximum of 5, but feel free to test out various locations to see what works best for you. I am very happy and proud to announce that PeerFlyBanners.com recently served it’s 2,000,000th impression. I released PeerFly Banners on April 19th of this year. So, over the past 200 days I the site has gotten 2,000,000+ impressions or around 10,000 a day. Not bad!

Future Updates for PeerFly Banners

I have a few updates that I hope to do to PeerFlyBanners.com by the end of the year. They include (in no particular order):
  • Updated, easier to use interface.
  • Banner targeting by country (automatic).
  • Improved system so you can choose which banners you’d like to display or not display.
  • Login system so you can track your stats. Of course, you can track your total clicks on your PeerFly Reports page, but the ability to also track impressions and which banners are leading to the best CTR (click through rate).
  • WordPress plugin to make it easy to add PeerFly Banners to your WordPress blog.
I know that by making these improvements it will not only make the website/service better, but also help my publishers make more money, which is my goal with all of my projects. Yesterday I released my latest project, PeerFly Proof, and I think that is going to keep me busy, but I will do my best to update PeerFly Banners as soon as possible! How to use Google Images to Find Banners for your Campaigns

We have almost 6,000 banners available to our publishers on PeerFly. Believe it or not, that is not enough. The banners that we add to our network are those that have been provided to us by the advertiser. So, not all campaigns will have banners (yes, even those that allow banner display traffic) and some of the offers only have a few banners available and they are not always in the size you need. What can do you? Google Images has the answer (or at least one of them). Google Images has a great feature that allows you to search by image size. It’s not really apparent how to do this at first, but it’s actually very simple. Step 1 Go to Google Images (images.google.com). Google Images home Step 2 Type in a keyword for the offer you want to promote. In this example I am going to use Apple iPad 2 (3541). So, I type in free iPad. step 2 Step 3 Type in the word imagesize: and then put the widthxheight of the banner you want to find. step 3 In the example above I am looking for banners that are 468×60. You can search for whatever size you need though. The same would work for 300×250, 160×600, etc. Now, you should have a nice list of banners in front of you. Use PeerFlyBanners.com

I have been working to update PeerFlyBanners.com so that you can pick and choose which banners you want to rotate. This has not been completed yet, but I hope to release it in the next month or so. PeerFly Banners allows you to automatically rotate offers within any vertical of any size from PeerFly. It’s a great tool for split testing offers and seeing what works with your traffic. I am happy to announce we recently passed 1,000,000 impressions! I hope this makes it a little easier for you if you are trying to use banners to promote your affiliate campaigns. If you plan to test our offers at PeerFly, make sure that they allow Banner Display traffic and do not specifically restrict using banners besides the ones provided by us. With over 1,000 active offers, it’s sometimes hard to decide which ones to promote. Yes, we have a pretty good offer search system and I created PeerFly Offers to help, but it’s still not the easiest task. This is especially true when you have a network of sites in different niches and you are just trying to monetize the traffic with something besides Google AdSense. Because of all this, I get a lot of requests from my PeerFly publishers for a simple offer rotator where they can just copy and paste a script on their site and it’ll rotate offers for them. So, I created PeerFlyBanners.com.

PeerFly Banners is a simple service that does exactly what I described above. It allows you to setup a quick script that you can put on your website and it’ll automatically rotate our 1,000+ affiliate offers on PeerFly based on the vertical you select and the banner size. Create Your Script

I have intentionally made it super easy to use this service. Everything you need is available to you on the homepage. You will need to complete the form with the following information.
  • PFID – Your PeerFly ID, which you can find when you login to PeerFly. You must be an approved publisher. If you are not, Join PeerFly.
  • Verticals – Choose the verticals you would like the site to grab offers and banners from. If you do not care, you can select All Verticals.
  • Banner Size – Choose the size banner you would like to display. There are several sizes to choose from.
Once you have entered that information push Generate Code and the site will generate a javascript code snippit you can place on your site and it will automatically rotate offers based on the information you provided above. All clicks generated will go to your PeerFly affiliate link and you will be able to see them and any conversions on your PeerFly Reports page. The subid peerflybanners is placed in the link so you will be able to see that on your reports. Please feel free to take a look at the site and test it out. The offers and banners update automatically everyday. Right now there are 6,524 different banners being rotated. This is my second site I’ve put up in the past week so if you run into any bugs let me know. I think I have them all worked out, but you never know.
