Show Off Your PeerFly Earnings with PeerFlyProof.com

One of the best parts of my job as an Affiliate Manager is being able to watch the progress of my publishers. I have publishers who over the past two years have gone from making $50/month to over $10,000 a month. It’s just amazing to see their development as a affiliate marketer and I am proud to be able to say that every year I help my publishers earn millions and millions of dollars. So, recently I got an idea on how I can help them show that money off.

Well, this project doesn’t all stem from my wanting to show off. About a month ago I had someone contact me on Skype and link me to a Flippa sale. There was a user on Flippa trying to sell a site and claiming that they were making over $1,000 a day with PeerFly. The person who contacted me on Skype was interested in buying the site off Flippa if the stats shown were true, but wasn’t willing to fork over the money until they had proof. Well, after taking a look for myself I could easily tell the image was Photoshopped. I checked the publisher’s earnings in our backend and I was right, the stats shown were fakes. I saved some guy a few thousand dollars and got a fraudster suspended. There had to be a way to make sure this didn’t happen again or to at least help try to prevent it. Well, from all of that, PeerFly Proof was born.

What is PeerFly Proof?

PeerFly Proof is a website that allows PeerFly Publishers to create “proof badges”, or images that are generated dynamically with their earning information directly from the PeerFly servers. Publishers can choose what information is available publicly on the badge image and then use it on forums, blogs, websites, etc. and show off their PeerFly earnings.

The following information can be added to the badge on the right.

  • Current Unpaid Balance
  • Paid Earnings
  • Total Referrals
  • Today’s Balance
  • Yesterday’s Balance
  • Custom Message

The image on the right only has total referrals and a private message (hey LukePeerFly.com readers).

The information displayed on the badge is updated each time the image is loaded and all that is required to create the badge is your PeerFly API key. Of course, your API key is protected and never displayed. Each badge is given a unique ID that is used to identify it.

Once you enter in your API key, message (optional), select which stats you want to include, and push Created Badge your badge is created and you are given the HTML code, Forum Code (I can see this being very useful for WarriorForum members), and a direct link to your image.

Over the next few weeks I plan to add new badge images styles and different badge sizes. I would appreciate your feedback on the site and hope you find it useful!

PeerFly API and Feeds

I know that a large percentage of affiliate marketers start out in web development. It’s a trend. You start out in web development creating small websites (GeoCities anyone?) and as you learn more and more about web development you start considering how to monetize your traffic. So, you go sign up for Google AdSense and toss some javascript on your website and all of the sudden you’re making money. Then, you start researching different ways to make money online and eventually you land on affiliate marketing. This is the case for a good percentage of affiliates in the industry.

So, as a webmaster you have learned the basic skills of HTML and (hopefully) CSS. If you’re really ambitious you move into programming languages. If this is you it is time to start using our PeerFly API to increase your productivity and start making more money!

PeerFly XML and RSS Feeds

At PeerFly, we have 5 different feeds.

  • All Offers
  • Popular Offers
  • Paused Offers
  • Account Info
  • Daily Earnings

Any approved PeerFly publisher has access to all of these feeds and their very own API key for authentication. I have personally created four different applications from these feeds and those applications are used by thousands of people every day.

  1. PeerFly Stats for Firefox
  2. PeerFly Offers
  3. PeerFly Banners
  4. PeerFly Stats for Google Chrome (to be released in the next week!)

I actually also created a mobile version of PeerFly using jQuery Mobile that Tyler Cruz and I were testing, but I never made it public because there were some security issues with it and I could not really come up with a way around it. We do plan on making some updates to the mobile version of PeerFly soon though.

So, if you’re a developer I highly suggest you take a look at our API and see what you can do with it. This is a great way to generate referrals (we pay 5% on any referral you send to PeerFly!) and you’re welcome to monetize anything you make how you feel will work best for you (we do not restrict this).

If you have any ideas for applications or features for PeerFly in general please feel free to send them over to us! We have the advantage of being able to implement any features you are looking for whereas our competitors have to work with what they are given. Take advantage of it and let’s make some money :)

Search PeerFly Offers at PeerFlyOffers.com

I am not just an affiliate manager at PeerFly. I am also currently a student at Illinois State University studying Information Systems Web Application Development. I am finishing up my senior year at ISU and will be graduating this May.

The reason I mention that is because I am not only passionate about affiliate marketing, but I also am very passionate about web development, which is part of the reason I started working for PeerFly to begin with. Programming (PHP) and web design are hobbies of mine and I love to develop websites in my spare time. Well, yesterday I decided to take a break from my normal work/school day and developed PeerFlyOffers.com.

Search PeerFly Offers

The idea behind the site is I want to give non-PeerFly publishers the change to look through a directory of our offers. Right now the only way to view our offers if you are not already an approved PeerFly publisher is to use services like OfferVault or oDigger. They are both very useful services, but I think something more focused on just PeerFly offers would be more effective. So, I jumped on the opportunity and this is what I came up with:

PeerFlyOffers Homepage Search PeerFly Offers at PeerFlyOffers.com

Website Features

PeerFlyOffers.com is updated each night with every single offer available on PeerFly automatically. I used our PeerFly XML feed (must be logged in to view) to grab a list of all of the offers and the information on those offers. I then created a search, offers lists, and my own offer information pages so you can easily gather information on any offer we have.

Offer Search

There is a search bar at the top of the site that allows you to quick search by offer title (it also looks in offer descriptions), offer vertical, or by the offer ID. If you’re looking for insurance offers just type insurance (one of our verticals). Once your search is complete the results page will show you all of the offers found in your search. By default the offers are ordered by conversion rate, but you have the option to order them by EPC and payout as well.

Offer Lists

I have created three separate offer lists for the site as well. Two of them are featured on the homepage.

  • New Offers – shows most recent offers added to PeerFly.
  • Top Converting Offers – shows top converting offers on PeerFly.
  • Top EPCs – shows offers with top average earnings per click on PeerFly.

Offer Information Pages

Once you find an offer you are interested in you can click the title and it will take you to the offer page. Each offer has a page listing:

  • Offer Statistics
  • Marketing Techniques (allowed and restricted)
  • Banners
  • Similar Offers

All of this information should help you when you are looking for offers on PeerFly.

You can easily build something like this using our great API and XML/RSS feeds at PeerFly. If you aren’t sure how to make it yourself, what would you like to see made? We want to build the features you need. If you have any questions or suggestions, please post them in the comments below or contact me.
