Short Form Registration vs. Email Submit Offers

short form vs email submit

If you have read any of my posts that mentioned a PeerFly offer, then you know I am a big advocate of email submit offers. Email submit offers have been our “bread and butter” at PeerFly since we started, but as we continue to grow we’ve noticed more and more of our publishers are running our short form registration offers rather than our email submits. There are many reasons for this and as I outline them I think you will see that, although email submits are great converters and we’ve seen a ton of very profitable email submit campaigns at PeerFly, there is definitely reason to split test those campaigns with our short form registration offers as well.

What is a Short Form Registration offer?

A short form offer is simply a lead offer that converts with a short form (not many fields required). A short form registration offer converts on the 2nd page submission. The first page will look a lot like an email submit. Usually with just a single form field required (email or zip code).

Once the user puts in their zip code or email (as shown above) they will be taken to a page asking for their shipping information. This is the case with nearly all short form registration offers. If the user enters their information on that page and submits it you are paid for the lead.

What are the benefits to running a Short Form Registration offer?

As you can see, the advertiser that owns the offer is getting quite a bit more information about the user that is generating the lead (who is interested in getting the product). With more information comes a more qualified lead and that means you are going to get paid more for that lead. Most of our short form registration offers pay $2+ and about $1 higher than the exact same email submit offer.

So, you’re sending the advertiser better leads and you’re getting paid more. Sounds pretty good right? You’re probably thinking, that’s great, but your conversion rate will decrease because more information is required of the user. Believe it or not, that may not be the case!

Let’s use our Apple iPhone 4 Verizon offer as an example. The email submit pays $1.30 and the registration version pays $2.00. If you have a 10% conversion rate with the email submit your EPC is $0.13. If you have a 7% conversion rate with the short form your EPC is $0.14. Depending on how well your ad copy is written and your traffic source, you could see a majority of your users completing that 2nd page on the email submit and unless you’re promoting the registration version of the offer you would never know.

Split test!

Everyone says test, test, and test some more and this is no different. If you’re running an email submit and it’s profiting or close to profiting you would be crazy not to split test a similar registration offer with that traffic. It does not need to be the exact same landing page. If you’re running an iPad email submit you will have no problem finding an iPad registration offer. This is the case for most niches. Also, if you were blacklisted on an email submit usually you can run a short form registration and won’t run into that problem.

We are working to get more short forms up on PeerFly so keep an eye on our new offers. These are great offers and for affiliates who love running email submits it’s a small change that can have large benefits. You’re going to get a higher payout and will be sending higher quality of traffic so if you are sending volume there will be more room for a pay bump. I’ve included a list of some of our top short form lead offers below. Take a look, let me know if you have any questions, and let’s make some money! :)

iPhone 4S is coming!

iPhone 4S featured

Well, I am sure most of you have heard about the new iPhone 4S. It’s the next big release in the iPhone family. I have been an active iPhone user since just a few months after it was originally released and I am ready to update my iPhone 4 for the new iPhone 4S. It turns out, millions of other people feel the same. According to Apple, they had over one million pre-orders in the first 24 hours. I was one of them. I am picking up my new iPhone on Friday.

The iPhone 4S is a very hot topic right now. It’s #12 on Alexa’s What’s Hot list. Over the next few days that is going to increase and so is the interest in the new phone. People are going to be blogging about the amazing new features and with the release of iOS5 it’s going to be all the buzz. What am I getting at? Bank off of it!

We have recently added a nice selection of iPhone 4S offers and have hundreds of offers for Apple products. I have listed our new iPhone 4S offers below. Take a look through and let the creative juices flow.

How E-mail and Zip Submits Work

how do email and zip submits work

PeerFly is becoming known as the email/zip submit affiliate network. We have about 1,200 affiliate offers in our network, but of those 1,200 about half are email and zip submits. We work with all the popular verticals, but the majority of our offers and the majority of our traffic goes to these offers. So, we know a thing or two about them.

The advertiser is not actually paying you for the email

This is the first misunderstanding with email and zip submits. The advertiser is asking for the user’s email on their landing page and they are paying you (our PeerFly publishers) for those leads, but in all actuality those leads are only a part of the process. This is the same with zip submits. It should be obvious that the advertiser does not really want to pay you $1.30 for some random user’s zip code, but rather what comes after that.

The lead (user’s email or zip code) is simply a way for the advertiser to start the user down their offer path. They use the email or zip code to weed out people who may not be interested in the gift available if the user pushes their way down the path.

Down the path

So, after the user enters in their email or zip code and pushes submit they will be taken down the offer’s path. I have gone through and tested an offer to show an example of what could show up in an email or zip submit path. In this example I am going to use our new Free Cheerios email submit offer.

First Page

1st page 550x350 How E mail and Zip Submits Work

The first page is exactly what you would expect from any of our email submits. The advertiser has a nice looking landing page offering the user a free gift (box of Cheerios) for entering their email address. Of course, under the submit button there is the small print explaining that the Cheerios are “free with the completion of program requirements.” So, what are those requirements?

Second Page

2nd page 550x350 How E mail and Zip Submits Work

After the user enters their email they are taken to the page shown above asking “where shall we send yours?”. You will see a similar page on early all email/zip submit offers. The second page is almost always the shipping information page. The advertiser is collecting more information from the user not only so they have that information on file in case they complete the path and need to ship the gift to them, but also so they know the user is serious about completing the promotional offers to receive the gift.

At the bottom of the form (right above the SUBMIT button) you will notice a Yes/No question. This is a co-reg offer. So, if the user selects Yes the advertiser can then send that information over to Eversave and they will be paid for getting that user to sign up for their daily coupon emails.

Third Page

3rd page 550x350 How E mail and Zip Submits Work

The third page is where the path starts to split up. The advertiser wants to figure out what exactly the interest of the user is so they can find offers that they would be interested in doing. In the example above, the advertiser is trying to figure out if the user would be interested in business opportunity and work from home offers.

If they are (click Yes) then they are taken to the following page.

4th page yes 550x350 How E mail and Zip Submits Work

Because the advertiser knows the user is interested in making money online they are presented with a short survey of possible ways to make money online (the advertiser will make money off of these offers). They can pick and choose which ones they are interested in trying.

If the user were to choose No on the 3rd page then they would be taken to the page shown below. I’m guessing if they entered a real cellphone number they would not be taken to the next page, they wouldn’t be shown this page, but I entered a fake so this is where I was taken.

Fake Cellphone 550x350 How E mail and Zip Submits Work

I think without going any further down the offer path you are starting to get the idea. The advertisers for our email and zip submit offers monetize your traffic to their offers off their backend, not the email or zip code they are paying you to capture. This is why sometimes we have to blacklist our publishers running traffic to these offers. If your traffic is not converting on the backend (people are not going through the path or putting in fake information) then the advertiser is not making any money on the offer and that is why we can’t let you run it.

We work with the best advertisers in the email and zip submit verticals and they know how to monetize your traffic as long as you’re sending legit traffic through the methods that they have listed they allow. They are very good at it and that is why we have such great payouts on these offers.

I hope this has given you a better understanding of the email and zip submit offers you are trying to promote. Hopefully, this information will help you optimize your campaign so that both you and the advertiser can make the most money possible :)

Pre-Pop PeerFly Offers

pre-pop featured

We have had the ability to pre-pop our offers at PeerFly for awhile and we have had pre-poppable offers before, but we have recently struck up a deal with some of our major e-mail submit advertisers to allow us to pre-pop all of their offers and keep the same payouts! This is great news for our PeerFly publishers!

What is a “PRE-POP” offer?

Pre-pop is short for pre-populate. An offer that allows pre-pop allows you to pre-populate a field on the landing page. With our offers at PeerFly you can pre-pop the e-mail address on some of our e-mail submits. I have included a list of our pre-pop offers below so you can see which ones allow it.

Why pre-pop?

Recently I have been talking about PPV a lot. With PPV, you are typically going to want to create your own landing page that is optimized for the PPV pop up window. Well, if the offer you are promoting can be pre-popped then you can include a form on your landing page to collect the users e-mail and then redirect them to the actual offer landing page with their e-mail pre-populated in the form. This will typically increase your conversion rate, which is always great.

How to pre-pop

With PeerFly it is very easy to pre-pop your offer. All of our offers that you can pre-pop have the tag [Allows Pre-Pop]. When you go to the offer page for one of those offers you’ll see the email= variable has been added to the URL string for your Long Link.

pre pop email long link 550x68 Pre Pop PeerFly Offers

Simply pass the users e-mail after that variable (ex: email=bob@example.com) and it’ll be automatically entered into the e-mail form on the offer landing page.

What offers can you pre-pop?

We will be adding more and more offers you can pre-pop, but you can find a complete list at anytime on PeerFlyOffers.com at our pre-pop list. You can find a similar list on PeerFly here. As I mentioned, they all have the tag [Allows Pre-Pop].

There are many advantages to pre-popping offers on PeerFly. If you have any questions about how to pre-pop our offers or if you need help finding offers please let me know!
