Traffic Sources

What traffic sources you use are critical when it comes to affiliate marketing. I test different traffic sources and discuss them so you know which ones are good to use on your affiliate marketing campaigns.

Tracking Keywords and URLs with DirectCPV

track directcpv subids

A lot of my PeerFly publishers are using DirectCPV right now and although I do not think it is the best PPV network, they do have traffic and there are some people running very successful campaigns with them. One issue they all seem to be having right now is that the pixel option with the new DirectCPV interface does not seem to work. It’s easy to see how this could be an issue when you go to optimize your campaign, but luckily there is another option that is just as good. Instead of placing the tracking pixel on PeerFly, you can simply pass their keyword/url variables into your PeerFly long link.

DirectCPV Destination URL

When you are setting up your Default landing page on DirectCPV they give you four variables that you can pass into your affiliate link. Well, just like when you setup a 7Search campaign, you can pass these variables into your long link and then when you view your Reports on PeerFly you can see a complete breakdown based on those SubIDs.

The four different variables you can pass are:

$esc.url($query.keyword) ${query.trafficProvider.key} $esc.url($query.url) $esc.url($matched.categoryName)

If you are looking at that and thinking, “well, that’s confusing”, I agree → Continue Reading

Live 7Search Campaign

live 7search campaign

I decided to create a LIVE 7Search campaign to show you the campaign I am testing. I am showing the keywords I am getting clicks on, the the AFFID for that source, and the RID for that source from 7Search. I am also using a postback script I created so I can show you the total amount of leads generated from this campaign as well as recent subids that have generated leads. I will not be showing the offer I am promoting or my ad copy, but I will tell you it’s a good converting email submit from PeerFly :)

If you are interested in setting up your own 7Search campaign like the one shown below I suggest taking a look at my recent guideline posts. I am following these exactly:

Setup a 7Search Campaign (get $25 to advertise with FREE!) Optimize your 7Search Campaign and PROFIT

Of course, please let me know if you have any questions. I will keep this campaign running and live for as long as possible.

Unfortunately, due to some limitations with WordPress, I had to remove the stats from this post. However, you can view them here.

Once you have setup your 7Search campaign, have everything tracking properly, and are generating some traffic the next thing you can do to help yourself push towards profitability is optimize that traffic. If you followed along my article on how to setup a 7Search campaign you should have everything tracking properly. If not, please go take a look at that article before you continue.

Read This First! Setup a 7Search Campaign Analyzing Your 7Search Traffic

The thing I like most about 7Search is the fact that it’s search traffic and it’s so cheap. After you setup a campaign you should start to see traffic almost immediately as long as you bidding enough to get you in the top positions. Depending on your keywords and bidding, you should have a nice amount of data within your first $5-10. I am going to go ahead and share my Lids campaign data. Now, you’re going to see that a majority of my traffic came from one keyword and although I do plan to do a follow up post about that keyword specifically, I do not want you to get the impression that this is your million dollar keyword and you’re never going to → Continue Reading

Setting up a 7Search Campaign

setting up a 7search campaign

Yesterday I sent out an email to everyone who has joined my newsletter, Affiliate Manager Exclusive, with a quick example and walk through of setting up and tracking a 7Search campaign. Today I am going to go into a little more detail on how exactly that is done, give you some example offers you should run on 7Search, and I have even included a screencast going over my example campaign. Later this week I am going to do a follow up post on how to optimize your 7Search campaign by finding and blacklisting losing sources.
